There is a newer version of dilldill extends python's pickle module for serializing and de-serializing python objects to the majority of the built-in python types. Serialization is the process of converting an object to a byte stream, and the inverse of which is converting a byte stream back to on python object hierarchy.

This version of dill is compatible with multiple vesions of Python. At any time, only one of the versions of Python can be active and the desired version of Python should be loaded before loading this version of dill.
These versions of dill are available on the BEAR systems (BlueBEAR, BEARCloud VMs, and CaStLeS VMs). These will be retained in accordance with our Applications Support and Retention Policy.
