The Thermo-Calc software is a sophisticated database and programming interface package used to perform thermodynamic calculations. It can calculate complex homogeneous and heterogeneous phase equilibria, and then plot the results as property diagrams and phase diagrams.

Accessing Thermo-Calc 2020a-foss-2019b

Thermo-Calc Licensing

The licences for Thermo-Calc are only accessible by members of the School of Metallurgy and Materials (those belonging to p-thermocalc group). If you require access to the application, please contact the IT Service Desk for details.

Thermo-Calc on BEAR Portal

Note that if you want to use the Thermo-Calc graphical interface within the BEAR Portal BlueBEAR GUI app, you will need to execute the following command first:

unset XDG_DATA_DIRS

Linking Thermo-Calc SDK

To link your own code against the gfortran Thermo-Calc SDK, you should use something like the following line in your Makefile:

LIB = -lc -lm ${EBROOTTHERMOMINCALC}/SDK/TQ/libtq-linux-x86_64-gfortran-2020.1.21168-41.so
