There is a newer version of TIE-GCM
The NCAR Thermosphere-Ionosphere-Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIE-GCM) is a
comprehensive, first-principles, three-dimensional, non-linear representation of the coupled thermosphere and
ionosphere system that includes a self-consistent solution of the middle and low-latitude dynamo field. The model
solves the three-dimensional momentum, energy and continuity equations for neutral and ion species at each time
step, using a semi-implicit, fourth-order, centered finite difference scheme on each pressure surface in a staggered
vertical grid. It can be run in either serial or parallel mode on a variety of platforms, including Linux
workstations and supercomputers.
Accessing TIE-GCM 2.0-foss-2020b-Python-2.7.18
To load the module for TIE-GCM 2.0-foss-2020b-Python-2.7.18 please use this command on the BEAR systems (BlueBEAR, BEARCloud VMs, and CaStLeS VMs):
module load TIE-GCM/2.0-foss-2020b-Python-2.7.18
BEAR Apps Version
The listed architectures consist of two part: OS-CPU.
- BlueBEAR: The OS used on BlueBEAR is represented by EL and there are several different processor (CPU) types available on BlueBEAR. More information about the processor types on BlueBEAR is available on the BlueBEAR Job Submission page.
- BEAR and CaStLeS Cloud VMs: These VMs can have one of two OSes. Those with access to a BEAR Cloud or CaStLeS VM should check that the listed architectures for an application include the OS of VM being used. The VMs, irrespective of OS, will use the haswell CPU type.
