FreeSurfer is a set of tools for analysis and visualization of structural and functional brain imaging data. FreeSurfer contains a fully automatic structural imaging stream for processing cross sectional and longitudinal data.

Accessing FreeSurfer 7.2.0-centos8_x86_64

To load the module for FreeSurfer 7.2.0-centos8_x86_64 please use this command on the BEAR systems (BlueBEAR and BEAR Cloud VMs):

The listed architectures consist of two part: OS-CPU. The OS used is represented by EL and there are several different processor (CPU) types available on BlueBEAR. More information about the processor types on BlueBEAR is available on the BlueBEAR Job Submission page.

Licensing

FreeSurfer licenses are free, but they use registrations to keep rough statistics on the number of users, which they can use in grants and presentations as a demonstration of their contribution to the neuroimaging community.

Please register for a licence here: https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/registration.html

Then to use your licence, set the FS_LICENSE environment variable with the path of the file, e.g. in your batch script:

export FS_LICENSE=${HOME}/.freesurfer_licence
